Student Assistance Program Team Training
The Student Assistance Program Team Training is an intensive, highly experiential training that serves a Team of five to eight educators. The training is available in a 3 day comprehensive format and a 2 day condensed format. Teams are trained in how to identify, intervene with and create appropriate action plans for students who may be at risk for issues such as substance abuse, depression, suicide and violence.
Safe Schools: Bully Prevention, Conflict Management & Violence Prevention
This workshop is designed to teach concrete, immediate, and experiential prevention and intervention skills that deal with the issues of conflict, anger, abuse, and bullying. Educators will learn what triggers conflict and anger; examine various conflict styles; explore competition as a possible root of conflict.
Leveraging Cultural Differences to Promote Diversity and Equity
This session offers strategies school leaders and teachers can transfer immediately into their buildings and classrooms to reach and engage learners of all cultures, ages, and abilities.
Understanding and Teaching Children Affected by Poverty
This training is designed for educators who wish to build a deeper understanding of the needs of children and families affected by poverty. Poverty is not merely a financial situation, but also includes emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical aspects. We will examine the critical role that support systems, resources, relationships, and role models play as intervening factors.
The Art of Communication: Body Language and Other Essential Skills
Everyone believes they know how to communicate effectively. Unfortunately, we are incorrect. Even the best communicators fail to connect with their audience most of the time. Working with peers in a human laboratory, our talents come alive, versus reading the concepts from the written page.
Mental Health Concerns in our Youth: The Role of Trauma Informed Care
This program is designed to help educators become more effective in recognizing and understanding mental health concerns present in their students. Focus will be placed upon intervention techniques, proactive approaches, building resiliency, and driving down stigma related to mental health concerns in our society.
